Mangala was called to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1999 and then he joined the chambers of Mr Ikram Mohamed, President’s Counsel and former President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka where he gained invaluable experience in civil and commercial litigation.
Mangala entered King’s College, University of London and took his Masters Degree (LLM) in Corporate Law specialising the subjects of Information Technology Law, Internet Law, EU Competition Law and Intellectual Property Law in 2002.
Mangala subsequently admitted to the Roll as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in the year 2003 and has practiced as a Solicitor at numerous reputed law firms in England and since 2006 he practiced as Principal Solicitor of Levman Solicitors, Buckinghamshire, UK until his return to Sri Lanka in late 2007. Mangala re-joined the Chambers of Mr Ikram Mohamed P.C. in 2007 where he has done considerable amount of work in corporate law as a counsel. Similarly, he has appeared in many high-profiled cases as the junior counsel to Mr Faize Musthapha P.C., Mr Shanki Parathalingam P. C. and Dr Romesh de Silva P.C
Mangala also has held the position of Director of Manryk Limited, Middlesex, United Kingdom which is a financial services institution with the authorisation of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of UK.
Mangala brings 23 years of experience in Legal, Financial Services and e-Commerce industry as a partner of Ceylits Chambers. Mangala handles civil, corporate and commercial litigation and commercial arbitrations (local and international) and specialises Writ Applications, Fundamental Rights, and in Appellate jurisdiction (Supreme Courts, Court of Appeal & Civil Appellate Courts).
