Mr. Bhathiya Abeywardana

With a natural passion and the energy to compliment it, Bhathiya lives and breathes agriculture. Having studied agriculture at the University of Wayamba and the School of Agriculture in Kundalsale, he has worked in all areas of the industry in Sri Lanka, from consulting ground-level rural farmers to advising national level projects and policy makers for last 15 years time. Bhathiya now specialises in all aspects of technical irrigation & fertigation systems, hydroponics , GAP farming , greenhouse design and large-scale turn key project management and is the force behind some of the largest projects in the country. And also he introduced few of the game changing technologies such as sub surface drip irrigation systems, commercial dutch hydroponics etc… to the sector for the first time in the history. 
A tireless advocate for the advancement of Sri Lankan agriculture, Bhathiya has amassed a vast repertoire of skills and experience and is recognised as one of the country’s true leaders in the field. However currently Bhathiya is working as the Director of Modern Agri Pvt Ltd which he founded in 2020. His close collaboration work with the industrial leaders in Israel , Netherlands, India , Italy & Thailand also prominent in his operation & successes.
